What’s been going on?

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

So for those 4 people that read my blog, you might be asking where have I been?  What have I been doing?  Why haven’t I been blogging?  And the answer is… I have nothing.  Been lazy, overworked, underpaid, busy, tired, (make up your own excuse)…

So here goes.  Couple of things..

1.  I am a jink to the Softball world.  I played on a new team and league last Thursday night.  Yep, we Lost.  Needless to say that 80% of the players were men that are 55+.  But I will have to say I was pretty impressed.  Second, the other team we played was good.  They were snatching everything going to them.  Well done on their part.  Needless to say I think i am a jinx to Softball.  I did go 1 for 2 at the plate, and caught or stopped everything that came my way.

2.  I am expecting my first child on September 22.  Ashley and I are very excited.  While we weren’t planning on having kids so quickly, we are very excited.  Yes, it is a honeymoon or Christmas Baby…  For more info on the baby. www.babyerb.com

3.  I tried out for a new show this summer.  Beauty and the Beast.  We will see what happens.  Auditions were last night, and call backs later this week.  Keep your fingers crossed.  The show will perform the middle of July through August 1. I’ll keep you updated.

Other than that, just living life.  No really funny crazy stories to tell you.  I wish I had something.  I am sure after Baby Erb is born, there will be some good one.

Thanks,

Scott

Another Moral Victory…

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Last night was our the six game of the season. So far our record showed us at 0-5 this season and 0-10 for last season. So that’s 15 straight losses. We could probably add more losses from the third season. But I don’t like to count that far back.

trophy.jpgLuckily we can start a new streak… That is right for all you blog readers ( I believe 3-4 of you) WE WON LAST NIGHT!!! No, it’s not a typo. We actually won. A come from behind, dig down deep, give it all you got, win.

The game started like normal with them scoring about eleven runs in the first inning. The scoreboard at the end of first inning showed 11-2. 9 points, how will we come from behind with a 9 point deficit. We did though. We hung in there and made it happen. My fiance overheard one of the wives note that after all the errors we made and the other team scoring 11 points, that we were doing really well and had a good chance of winning the game. She must have been there for all three seasons to know that. LOL

It was a very exciting game last night. To everyone on the team, I believe we should just quit the season now on a high, a winning streak.

But we did at least get ice cream last night

P.S.  I like to give a shout-out to Justin and the “Tribe” for a good game.  Also, I wish I had a picture of Justin “Michael Jordan” Cohen and his jump to try to snag the ball.  He almost had two inches off the ground.

Continuing the Streak

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

It’s been a while since I last posted which talked about opening season.  Well I just wanted to let all the loyal fans out there know that we have done what no other team in our league has done.  That’s to be perfect.  That’s right 0-5 for the season.  So that’s makes 0-15 when you add last season.

I will have to say that our team is getting better.  We only lost to the first place team last Tuesday by 5 points.  17-12.  For us that is really good.  I had my first triple ever.  Of course I needed an oxygen tank after stopping on third, but still felt good to round the bases.

Tuesday, April 8th I play my ex-coworker but still friend Justin.  It should be an interesting game.  A battle to the end.  We would really like to win if you are reading this Justin.  Just drop a couple here or there…haha

We play at 8:30, so come out and watch the fun.

The Boys are Back!!!

Monday, February 18th, 2008

So it’s that time of year, softball season.  That’s right, starting March 3, 2008 we will start with a clean slate.  After a perfect season last year of 0-10, we look to capitalize on our momentum and will look to win at least two games this year.  Yes, more people and teams have loftier goals, but not us.  A win would be like the world series.  Can we do it?  I believe we can.

This year we moved to Tuesday night, to a more competitive league.  Well we hope at least.

We would love the support and hope to see you all out there.  Can’t wait to play my former colleague’s team and see what happens.

Heads held up High…

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

Well the season is over.  The bats have been put back in the case, the gloves in the closet.  As to a previous blog, we had a perfect season.  That’s right. 10-0 or wait, I meant to say 0-10.  That’s right we didn’t win a game.  But I will say the FBC team would won all ten if it came down to heart.  The camaraderie and dedication that each team mate brought to the field was tremendous.  Each week we took the field as if this was the World Series.  Unfortunately it wasn’t our season.  Until next season.

We actually had a decent game last night. Only a couple of bad plays the rest were just well placed hits by the other team.  We had a couple of good rallies, but never enough to sustain them.  We had fight, we didn’t give up.

So what will happen in the off season?  We will probably trade our shortstop since he is moving to NC.  Hopefully a couple of us will continue on strengthening and training.  Only to be ready for any challenge that we might face next season. So chin up, and heads held high…

One More Time…

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

So we played our next to last game last night (Monday, May 21st).  We played a team called, The Well.  This is the team we lost by one point to the first go around.  This is the team that has only won one game.

This game would be ours.  This is the team if we beat them we would be tied for last place.  A lot of pressure at this game.  A lot to live up to.  Could we handle it?  And to top it all off we only had 9 players instead of the normal 10 to show up.

So How did we do?  We Wo—-  ok, we lost like normal, but it was close.  Here is a recap.

We added an extra player from another team.  He was ok but not the ringer we needed.

We took an early lead 2-0.  Then they scored 5.  So 5-2.  Then we came back and scored 4 runs to make it 6-5.  Then we scored 2 more runs making our lead the biggest of the year at 8-5.  Victory was getting close.  We could almost smell it.  Very exciting to say the least.

Well then it happened.  They hit a homerun with two people on base to tie the game.  After that we didn’t score anymore.  They scored a couple of more runs but the game was called because of time and they won.

How did I do you ask?  Well you probably didn’t but I wanted to share anyways.

I was 3 for 3.  First hit brought in a run and had a double.  Second hit I had a 3 RBI on a single.  First single - 3 RBI ever.

Third hit I had a single.  Then I advanced.  I tried to steal third base but was a little slow in the process.  It was a good slide but a good throw at the same time.  At least I can say I performed a slide in this decade.  It has been a while since.

LAST game of the season on June 4th at 9:30pm.  We need a big fan base to end the season.  Maybe if we had fans to cheer us on it would improve our game. You never know until it happens.

Don’t talk about it… the perfect season

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

Well we have now played 8 games this season, and have shown no mercy. We are ruthless, tough, courageous, and did I say ruthless.

Ruthless, tough, and courageous in the beatings we take each week on the softball field. That is right…perfect season. 0 - 8. We did score 8 runs last night, which is something amazing in itself. 15-8. Good game for the most part. We had two really great innings.

Only two more games left. Will we win one of them? Will we have more than 2 fans a game? Bring all your friends. We need the support.

Another one bites the dust

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Well I was hoping to write to you with great news of a Glorious victory.  But no such luck.  We started out well.  3 - 0  lead.  But that closed quickly. For the most part we held them in arms reach.  But they pulled ahead.  Another 15 run victory in the 4th.  When will we get better?  When will it be our time to win?  Isn’t this church league.  Shouldn’t every team win at least one?  I think so. So all pray for our team when we compete again in two weeks.  We just want one victory before the end of the season.

I was 2 - 2 at the plate.  Didn’t bring anyone home or score myself…but at least I didn’t strike out.

Softball Results

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

For all you dedicated viewers out there that enjoy my softball rants, check this link out.  It keeps up with our wins and our losses.  Also how many games ahead or behind we are.

With 4 more games left I think we have a shot at the title.  But we need each of you to come out and support us.

No game… must rest

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

So the team owner has finally seen to it that we have a night off from our rigourous season of softball.  I believe we have the owner that use to own the Cleveland Indians in Major League.  Our training equipment is old and falling part.  Our transporation is a ten speed bike… Not the best of working conditions.  I often wonder if these are the reasons for our losses.  It could possibly be.

So hopefully the team will use this well deserved rest to prepare both mentally and physically for next week’s game.

I feel a victory…who’s with me?
