Well after our victory last year (2006) (1-9) we were on a natural high. We left last season determined and ready to start this season and bring victory to our church and ourselves.
Offseason…
Did we train? Did we hit the gym, lose that extra weight?
Did we recruit new members?
The answer is NO. Why mess with perfection… well maybe not perfection.
The season started in March and things were looking good for the crew. Yes, we did have a couple of new players to replace older ones. The circle of life.
First game… Beginning of the game we had a new sense of pride, hope that wasn’t there last year. Quickly that was crushed as we lost 16-4. But I will say that we looked better that first game then we looked at the end of last year. So the word got around. Maybe our bats will get better, gloves will be filled… it could happen.
Second game… We ALMOST WON!!! Lost by 1 point. Had the tie run on second and the go ahead run on first. Unfortunately we couldn’t pull it out. But man what game.
I told myself that I would bring a live chicken to sacrifice for the next game. (Major League quote)
It has been a total of 6 games and we are 0-6. 4 games left.
What will happen? Will we find out bats? Our gloves? Can we come up with a win to save the season?
Luckily we have at scored 1 run in each game to not have a total shutout.
What we need is Luck, and skill. But we do have a great time playing.
